Tona

Unemployment is causing pressing problems in Vietnam, with over 200,000 graduates cannot find a job. This accounts for 50% of the graduates, and the main reason for unemployment is lack of workplace experience. Over the waves of COVID-19 in Vietnam, unemployment has become more pressing than ever, and recovery must be made to prevent many people from living under the poverty line.

To resolve this issue, we propose an educational model: Tona. Tona is a MOOC and externship program that allows people to strengthen their CV and successfully apply to companies. We innovate using big data system to foster peer-learning, quality management, and personalized experience for all of our users. We also use tax codes to facilitate post-payment: Only when you get a job, you need to pay the tuition, making our course affordable for 93% of the population. We can introduce our course takers to prospective companies, startups, and corporations, so that they have a job right after finishing our course.

We deliver our opportunities to people that are in need. Not only students, even working employees, or high school students can take the opportunity to gain experience. We expect that, in the next 5 years, we can lessen the graduates unemployment rate by 50%, help thousand of students find jobs, and save millions of dollars lost annually. As the market of MOOC and e-learning expands and grows roughly more than 35% in developing countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, etc., we see a huge potential for business viability, profitability and social sustainability. We hope to educate students more thoroughly and provide them with excellent externships to prepare them for the workforce. Furthermore, we expect to reduce the hassle of many students living under the poverty line by providing with job opportunities.
