Project Summary

Problem Identified

In the aftermath of what seems like an Herculean strife against COVID-19, we are witnessing several novel endeavours in diagnosis and analysis, leveraging technology and our current understanding of the disease. It is in these undertakings, we see a palpable lack of publicly accessible data available for people to analyse, manipulate or utilise to the benefit of different stakeholders in our contention with COVID-19. In addition, most attempts to overcome this apparent lack of data involves collection of data for largely personalised affects and characterised with restricted access. It is therefore for not only necessary but prudent that the existence of an open-source, publicly accessible database is put in to motion.

Design Innovation

We propose an application where users, after expressing their consent, interact with a game through different auditory and tactile inputs to manoeuvre around different worlds. It is in these interactions that we collect relevant symptomatic data that is made available to researchers and creators all across the globe.

Impact On The Society

All data collected from the aforementioned gasified experiences is collected, appropriately labelled and disseminated such that the resulting data sets are open-sourced and accessible to people around the world. The interactions, and the resulting collection of data must be grounded in ethical considerations. The emerging data sets would allow for a deeper and more effective understanding of the disease and help alleviate tribulations faced around the diagnosis and treatment of the affected people.
